Wed. September 12th, 6:53pm at FreeGeek -- 1731 SE 10th Ave.

Topic: Getting (hopefully just your feet) Wet with Catalyst
Speaker: Jay Shirley

Jay is leading a large refactoring effort at a social networking company
where he is currently handling over a million requests per day from a
Catalyst app which also co-exists with legacy code.

The talk includes a quick overview, followed by "Hello World/Catalyst
Concepts" in an interactive format, and then a demonstration of a
simple real world application (Paste system.)

(Catalyst is a Perl MVC web application framework deployable on Apache,
lighttpd (and other servers) via either FastCGI or mod_perl. See
http://www.catalystframework.org/ for more detail.)

As usual, "social" "hour" follows the meeting at the Lucky Lab.
