We are looking to hire a Unix Admin ASAP for the State of Oregon.  We

Required: 5+ UNIX administration, Solaris 2.6, 9.x, AIX 5, Linux, shell
scripting

 

 

 

Looking for Senior Level UNIX System Administrator, primarily for the
Sun Solaris hosting environment. Currently, the UNIX hosting environment
is deployed mostly on Sun Solaris midrange servers and an IBM P670
running AIX. Should have experience in Solaris 2.6, 9.x and AIX 5.x,
with some Linux Administration. 

 

Required Skills: UNIX shell scripting (borne, ksh, and bash), including
in-depth experience with CPIO. Familiarity with SSL, SSH, SCP, and SFTP
DNS Configuration and Maintenance. Commercial Tripwire administration
Sun Jumpstart administration Veritas file system and cluster
administration CAM and Unitree administration Hitachi or other SAN
experience 

 

Desirable Skills: SMTP, sendmail and postfix configuration (recent
hands-on experience) Perl scripting with comprehensive regular
expression experience BigIP or other load balancing administration
ColdFusion 4.x ? MX 6.x administration LDAP administration ? Apache
1.3.2x administration.

 

Other duties: Participation in the development stages of project
planning. The ongoing upgrade and maintenance of the Sun/AIX hosting
environment. Close association with internal clients and, if necessary,
participation on technology related project teams. Network
troubleshooting and VPN connectivity if required. Knowledge transfer to
other IT staff regarding any work performed. Ongoing support for the
Hitachi SAN storage environment Documentation of work performed and any
specifics relating to server configuration Installation of any patches
that may be required Other projects as assigned Installs new software
releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves
software related problems. Performs system backups and recovery.
Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data
integrity. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and
procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and
pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works
under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically
require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a project
leader or manager.
