Sr. Systems Management Software Architect

Location: Beaverton, OR

 

Position Description: 

Our Client is seeking a Senior Systems Management Software Architect in its
Beaverton headquarters.

 

*	Design and develop, or research and acquire, foundational
technologies to support system management applications and services. These
technologies would be incorporated into subsystems for asset repository,
event management, policy management, security, logging, etc. 
*	Design and develop, or research and acquire, system management
services (e.g., discovery, asset management, provisioning, configuration,
control, etc.). 
*	Track and assess the relevance to client of existing and emerging
systems management standards from groups like the SA Forum, the DMTF, PICMG,
Mountain View Alliance, etc. 
*	Participate and/or lead the design and development of complex
systems management client applications (applications that effectively draw
the power from the underlying foundational subsystems and services mentioned
above). 
*	Assess and select useful tools for the modeling and/or development
of system management solution. Such tools could include CIM modeling
software, performance measurement tests, automated systems management load
generators, etc. 
*	Provide guidance to client's executive management on all product and
architectural decisions of significance.  

 

Qualifications:

 

*	A working knowledge of systems management protocols or interfaces
such as SNMP, IPMI, CIM-XML, WMI, HPI, TMN, etc.). 
*	Experience developing systems management or closely related software
(e.g., event management subsystems). 
*	A working knowledge in Java and C/C++ development.
*	A working knowledge of one or more of the following: Linux (Fedora,
Monta Vista, Wind River), VM Ware, Blue Cat. 
*	A working knowledge of service oriented architectures preferred.
*	A working knowledge of one or more scripting languages is required
(perl, php,etc.)
*	A working knowledge of JUnit, Eclipse, Perforce, and a bug tracking
system, along with Linux automation including Shell scripting, and Perl, or
other scripting support in TCL/Tk or Python, etc.
*	Strong work ethic.
*	5-7 years experience in software development. 
*	BS in Computer Science, MS preferred.
