I am a Recruiter working for Harvey Nash out of Colorado and one of or Business Partners is looking to bring on a Full Time Linux System Administrator with the following skills: 


Linux System Administrator               Location: Hillsborough, OR


GENERAL DESCRIPTION: 
Provide server administration as part of the Systems Administration Group to Linux Servers located at a Local Companies data centers located in our network. Duties include provisioning new servers, imaging, monitoring and other daily routines. Provide escalation support via phone and e-mail. Lead new deployments from the systems perspective by coordinating with customers and internal resources.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Daily monitoring and maintenance of over 100 servers. 

·         Perform back up, file replications and script management for servers. 

·         Test and apply new software and maintenance patches, including patch management services. 

·         Complete security audits on a routine basis. 

·         Administrative scripting with Perl, Python and Shell 

·         Plan and expand current service offerings. 

·         On-boarding and migrating customers. 

·         Provide customer support via telephone, e-mail, knowledge base program and other tools. 

·         Perform other job-related duties as required.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:                                      Related Experience

·         8+ years Linux Server administration experience is a preference

·         5+ years Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience

·         Red Hat Certification Engineering experience is preferred

·         Solaris, SuSE and other Linux distributions experience is a plus

·         Windows 2000/2003 is a plus

·         Solid experience with multi-server environment / deployments

·         Ability to gather requirements, design and implement appropriate solutions

·         Strong process oriented experience in terms of implementation and completion


Knowledge / Skills / Ability:

·         Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Servers (networking and storage) 

·         Familiarity with databases and web programming languages and automation

·         High Availability and failover scenarios, load balanced environments 

·         Strong working knowledge of storage environments (SAN, NAS) 

·         Software experience with Apache, PHP, sendmail, postfix, LDAP, Radius, bind, clustering 

·         Automation via scripting (Perl, Python, Shell) 

·         File Replication, File System Tuning, Upgrading and Configuring 

·         Troubleshooting 

·         Disaster Recovery

·         Ability to work well with customers and in a cross-team environment and to mentor within teams

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills

·         Documentation processes and procedures
