Hello all,

There is a Network Administrator position open at PSU.  Here is the
job description and requirements.


Title:  Network Administrator
Department:  PSU Foundation
Reports to:  Executive Director

Job Purpose:  To maintain availability, security, and reliability of
the PSU Foundation's IT infrastructure.  This includes the PSU
Foundation's network, servers, and related equipment including desktop
support to Foundation staff and workstations.

Responsibilities:
1.  Configure, maintain & monitor the TCP/IP network for optimum
performance & security.
2.  Configure, maintain & monitor system backups and database and
system disaster recovery protocol.
3.  Support desktop system issues including but not limited to Windows
Print Services & WSUS Server.
4.  Assist end users in their tasks as it relates to the software they
are utilizing to accomplish their job role. Support the Advanced use
of Microsoft Office.
5.  Perform regular upgrades and rebuilds of hardware and software
(ideally outside of business hours).
6.  Collaborate with developers, Systems Analysts and Database
Administrators to plan for system growth and performance.
7.  Librarian for all system operations related documentation &
application specific training material as well as the software
supporting current systems.
8.  Support Linux and Windows servers running IIS, MySQL, Oracle,
Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, Active Directory and Email.
9.  Keep abreast of technical knowledge needed to support new and
upgraded equipment, software and systems.
10. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
1.  Ability to be on-call on all weekends.
2.  Skilled in administering and managing Microsoft enterprise, Linux,
and VMware environments.
3.  Fundamental knowledge of Network engineering and administration:
TCP/IP, Remote access technologies, Wireless LAN, VLAN technology.
4.  Knowledge and proven skills with recommending and using RAID
storage types within SAN (Storage Area Network) environments.
5.  High degree of analytical abilities, diagnostic skills and
technical aptitude.
