Intel's Mobility Group that designs and implements the Intel mobile
technology used in notebook computers, phones, ultra-mobile PCs and
other portable devices. Intel's industry leading technology includes
processors, chipsets, Enhanced Data for GSM Environment (EDGE),
Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), High-Speed Downlink
Packet Access (HSDPA), Wi-Fi and WiMAX wireless radios. These
industry-leading technologies are driving the new mobile era of
semiconductors, where people will carry their computing with them,
making it truly personal. This group is growing very quickly, and has
the broadest set of mobile and wireless technologies in the industry.  A
Team within Mobility-Mobile Wireless Group is looking for a couple of
Linux Developers; positions are based out of our Hillsboro, OR facility.

In this position, you will be part of the fast growing Linux software
organization in the Wireless Division within Intel's Mobility Group.
This division is responsible for shipping silicon and software products
for various discrete and multi-comm wireless technologies including WiFi
and WiMAX for several mobile and ultra-mobile platforms. 

 

As part of this team, you will be responsible for designing, developing,
testing, documenting and delivering software solution stacks on Linux*
OS. Your expertise in development of Linux kernel modules preferably in
the wireless networking domain will yield high performing, product
quality software that is ready to ship to large OEMs and ODMs. Your
balance across product objectives and Open Source will be critical to
deliver Linux based products in a corporate environment. You will also
be responsible for debugging complex system issues across the stack
including kernel, drivers, and firmware as well as user-space modules.

 

Ideal candidate will possess a BS or MS degrees in Computer Science or
Computer Engineering with minimum of 3 years of experience. 

Additional qualifications include: 
- Excellent SW development, debugging and testing skills in C and C++ 
- Min. of three years of solid Linux* software development experience 
- Solid experience with and in-depth understanding of Linux kernel and
driver development with special focus on networking components 

- Experience working on software development kits (SDKs) and/or well
defined middleware modules 
- Excellent knowledge of development models in corporate teams as well
as open source 
- Interfacing with Linux* distributions and OEM/ODMs for requirements,
integration and issue resolution 
- Strong written and verbal communications 
- Experience interfacing and integrating with drivers (preferably
networking drivers) 
- Experience in middleware modules/interfaces for Linux
networking/communication stacks would be an added advantage 
- Experience with network protocols such as TCP, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP
would be an added advantage

- Comfortable debugging issues in SDK and down into the driver
- Though experience on GUI work not required, a good understanding of
usage models and translation of the same as requirements on an SDK
interface
