Position: Software Engineer - Library Development - Contract Position

Estimated Length of Contract:  4 weeks

Wages: Depending on Experience

 

Software Engineer, Contract - Library Development

 

We are looking for an experienced C developer on Linux to design and
implement tests for a communication library.  This is an ideal project for a
pragmatic programmer who can come up to speed quickly on an API, and who is
comfortable with a fast-paced environment.

 

This project is expected to last 4 weeks. 

 

Duties will include:

*	Reviewing library API
*	Implementing two modest sample applications to demonstrate the
capabilities of a communication library 
*	Designing and implementing tests for the library, with an eye toward
full functional coverage
*	Finding defects, filing problem reports, and participating in design
& possibly implementation of code fixes

 

Minimum qualifications 

*	Motivated, self-starter
*	Strong skills in C development using Gnu tools on Linux
*	Comfortable with using gdb or other debuggers

 

Desired qualifications:

*	Experience in application or runtime library development
*	Low-level hardware device programming
*	Shell scripting, collaborative development, software test, svn
*	Experience using gcov
*	QA or testing experience
