The candidate should be able to create test plans based on requirements and design documents. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Manage the build process to build our software for a variety of platforms including Linux, Solaris, Mac, and Windows using BuildBot. Manage the nightly regression test suite utilizing Pytho. Execute test cases using C, Python, bash, PERL on distributed Linux, Solaris, Mac, and Windows based platforms. Represent QA during the entire software development lifecycle Create and maintain all necessary QA testing environments. Work closely with development engineers to design for testability and investigate and help resolve defects. Work closely with other team members to help define and review product requirements and design documents. Provide accurate and timely documentation including test status reports, defect reports, and test results reports. Minimum Required Position Qualifications 3 or more years of QA experience and 2 years experience with C or Python Knowledge of Internet communication protocols and mark-up languages (HTTP, HTML, XML) a plus Knowledge of Apache a plus Understanding of QA methodologies and procedures, including functional, negative, compatibility, regression, performance and stress testing. Experience with products going through multiple release cycles, including pre-release, alpha, beta, and maintenance mode testing. Experience with a bug tracking system (Trac, Bugzilla, etc.). Experience with a version control system (e.g., Subversion). BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience. Personal Characteristics Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. Highly self-motivated, and willing to take responsibility for timely delivery.
