Linux Validation Engineer #585642 (4 Openings) Hillsboro, OR.
Description:

Software Engineers conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and design rule checkers, electronic data processing systems software. Determines computer user needs'' advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements'' designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgment and formal software process.
The focus of this job will be on the validation and verification of various components of an open source graphics subsystem; from Kernel drivers to user-space X, Mesa, 3D and accelerated graphics concepts.



Qualifications:
BS degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years experience.
Additional qualifications include:
A minimum background of 4 years recent experience in a combination of the following areas:
-Linux system design and/or development
-Deep knowledge and  hands on development code for least one of the following areas of interest, for example,  GTK, gobject, QT, or Clutter application development, software project maintainership, Eclipse plug-in development, GDK, OpenGL, 3D Graphics Programming,  and  other  application design toolkits.
- Strong C, C++ experience and expertise a must.
- Java, python, Javascript, web development and other experience a plus.
-Prior hands-on experience with Linux and Open Source Graphics and Video architecture and components such as Mesa, X.org, GL, OGL and OGL ES is a great advantage.
-Experience with defect and bug tools such as Bugzilla and the defect life cycle as well as experience in triaging defects, assignment of bugs and working with bug owners on resolving the issue via reproducibility and finally understanding of generating reports and release criteria is a great plus.
