Software Build Engineer:

Project Description:
Development of build, release, and validation automation. Results in reduced
need for manual work in said areas. 
Will be used to do software builds and will be deployed as part of in-house
test automation.

Daily Responsibilities: Work as a software engineer testing, developing, and
enhancing Linux-based automation tools.

. Automate build, packaging and release of a Linux-based embedded software
product 
. Automate attended and unattended testing of the embedded software product.
. Automate other aspects of the s/w development and testing processes.

Candidate will work in a small SW development team doing build development
and support. Some documentation work is required; some build and release
work to test new features, some work supporting the use of the automation by
others in the group.

Necessary Skills (Must Have):
. Software development experience on Python
. Linux, C/C++
. Ability to research and propose solutions to problems.
. Good source code management (SCM) and defect management skills. Experience
with Subversion and Mercurial.
. Good understanding of XML, XSLT, Python, Automation, CSS.
. oriented design and implementation
. Familiarity with Python web development frameworks such as Django or
Turbogears.
. Familiarity with software build
. Releases tools for Linux such as GNU make, RPM, YUM. 
. Ability to execute tests from test plan documents.
. Good unit-testing and source code documentation skills.
