I am posting this on behalf of my employer. We have a position open for a
senior level systems admin to join us.
Below is a brief description of the role, we would love to find candidates
that have skills from several of the areas mentioned.
But more than that, we are looking for someone with the right mindset
and analytic skills to be self motivated and creative
to drive our technology forward.



Smarsh (http://www.smarsh.com) is looking for an experienced Linux Systems
Administrator to join an existing team to design and build
large scale systems to store and process Petabytes of data.

Smarsh is a rapidly growing company, with projects ranging from designing
distributed Solr/Hadoop grids, to
automation and network design.

Role Summary:
The successful candidate will join a small, but elite team of systems,
network, and storage experts building high performance and scalable
systems to address the needs of massive datasets.  This opportunity would
include design, implementation, and maintenance of systems
and network.

Job Responsibilities:

* Significant Linux/Unix systems administration/engineering experience
* Design and implementation of scalable high density storage and compute
infrastructure
* Automation and scripting (Puppet, Python/Perl/Bash)
* Large deployment scenarios (PXE, Foreman)
* Packaging and deployment of software (RPMs, Debs)
* MySQL/Postgres Database management, backups
* Experience with Big Data (Solr, Hadoop, Object Storage)
* Virtualization technologies (VMWare specifically)
* Networking technologies: routing protocols, switching, and security
