Operations and Deployment Engineer
Portland, OR

The person will be heavy into Operations and Deployment
This person will do creating Automated deployment scripts, keeping scale in mind
Facilitate and work with others such as Dev and QA
Suggesting and implementing strategies around automation
Write and deploy scripts vs. AWS

Clone, link, and deploy machines to help out the Dev and QA teams
Integration environment of Production needs to be close to identical to Prod,
Set-up a clone of Production and cut over to A to B when you throw the light switch,
Quality of scripts need to really high because of the nature of the Operations work
Variety of scripting languages including Puppet scripting language,

Willing to help out with Postgres, such as back-ups, restores, and interpreting logs, centralizing logs, diagnosing logs
Monitoring and be mindful of resource levels in Production (it would be great to have a dashboard from what kind of memory we have available to us)

Requires:
Linux/Unix Systems Administration, Linux IT deployment experience
Experience with deployment of scripts, Puppet experience would be great
Networking background, such as IP addresses, host files, routing, etc
Virtualization and experience with sets and clusters of virtual machines is great to have
Storage systems experience and Cloud management techniques would be great to have (scripting Framework working with Amazon)
