Position Summary:


Provide primary Microsoft Windows server management focusing on Microsoft Exchange including planning, design, procurement, implementation, operation and trouble-shooting. Responsible for budget and enterprise-level project management and independently performing system network administration tasks. Ensure a commitment to safety through consistent and professional behaviors in performance of job requirements that demonstrate safety is a fundamental value that guides all aspects of our work. Perform related duties as required.


Essential Functions:

1. Oversee Microsoft Windows server related hardware and software budgeting with an emphasis on maintaining the lowest possible total cost of ownership.

2. Microsoft Exchange configuration, administration and maintenance.

3. Perform administrative responsibilities related to servers and platforms such as Active Directory, Exchange, Terminal Services, real-time system monitoring, and agency backup systems.

4. Design, deploy, oversee, and maintain upgrades of server related hardware and network embedded systems.

5. Perform troubleshooting of network and server problems. High-level involvement with the management of data integrity, network security, server storage, and backup systems.

6. Remain up-to-date with current industry standards in the server administration, protocols and security.

7. Create, oversee, and manage vendor contracts, invoices, and purchase orders in connection with agency projects and initiatives.

8. Serve as a senior technical resource to the agency. Evaluate alternative solutions as technology evolves.

9. Ensure stable performance for the Windows environment through performance monitoring and tuning.

10. Support of NAS, SAN, and DAS storage and volume management.

11. Oversee complex projects, including developing formal project plans, scope, timeline, costs, and implementation.

12. Perform project tasks and work assignments, and assign project tasks and work assignments to junior engineer. Ensure work is completed as assigned within deadlines.


Prerequisites:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other clearly related field. Additional related experience may be substituted for the degree.

Five years experience in network or systems management in a corporate environment.  Linux / Unix experience a plus.

Successful completion of a criminal background check.

Ability to pass a lift test, up to 70 lbs.

Valid Oregon or Washington driver's license and good driving record in line with TriMet policy.

Or any equivalent combination of training or experience


Salary Range:


Minimum: $66,429.00
Midpoint: $88,572.00
Maximum: $110,715.00
