My argument is, of course, that without the U.S. military acting as "world
police officers" (it's more like "world thugs and enforcers"), there would
be no reason to "protect" the borders because other nations would finally
have to contend with their citizens on their own terms without calling in
air strikes, embargoes, and "Peace keepers". Also, this land of plenty
would see its sources for cheap consumables dry and markets for exported
goods dry up immediately since the military is not backing the slavers or
forcing the open foreign ports.
The U.S. military IS on a mission of cultural protection. It is out there
protecting the culture of gluttony and exploitation that we've been able
to develop in this nation through years of tyranny overseas.
