Glen,

   Another thing. If you feel strongly about a bill or issue, make an
appointment with your representative and senator and speak privately with
them about it. If a bill is passed out of committee to the full House or
Senate, then all legislators vote on it. Your rep and senator may not be on
the committee but would benefit from knowing how his/her constituents feel
about a particular bill.

   You'll also find the rabbit warren of cubicles and offices make them all
rather human. Only the leadership have office suites. The rest are crammed
into small offices (senate on the left as you come into the Capitol from the
north, house on the right). It's stuffy and pretty warm in there, too.
