Richard,

   The professional network administrators here will correct me if I'm wrong,
but using thin clients with LTSP means each computer is connected to one (of
several, if configured that way) servers running linux. They don't need a
defined name.

   Your linux server(s) could run VMware so the users see a winduhs app when
they log in. Or, based on the business requirements, they might be logging
in to a linux application.
