[PLUG-TALK] GPG-signed E-mail

My understanding of the value of signing an e-mail message is to guarantee
that you actually sent the message. That's critical in legal and business
communications -- sometimes. However, I fail to grok the rationale behind
signing a message posted to a public mail list.

A number of folks do this, and I'm curious about the underlying reasons.
After all, do any of you need cryptographically-secure assurance that _I_
actually sent this message? Isn't the subject and question sufficient
evidence of the sender?

Rich
