There was a time when Networking == Ethernet == 3Com. At least the way to go if
you wanted a high performing, rock solid NIC was to go 3Com.  There were briefly a
top tier switch and router vendor too.

Today 3Com as a stand alone company ceased to exist.  It was sold to a private
equity group for $2.2B
