[PLUG-TALK] New topic, will ReactOS stabilize?

There is the argument that Linux + WINE cannot address all
interoperability issues with MS Windows. So the ReactOS
project which has existed for 12 years or so is trying to
create a Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista/2007 compatible OS.
Currently the latest release, discounting trunk releases,
is 0.3.7. A few programs work, but 0.3.7 is by no means
stable. Apparently the memory manager needs a lot of
work which is holding up work on improving the file
system support. So far, it appears that all the developers
are European. Not that there's anything wrong with this,
but I find it strange that no Americans are working on it.

Release 0.3.8 will be an alpha release and when 0.4 comes out
it will also be an alpha release. Release 0.5, when it comes
out, is going to be a beta release.

So, how long will it take to get to 0.3.5? How can more
developers be drawn into the project? Is the project
viable? How viable is it?
