[PLUG-TALK] xpdf (intermittently) blocks sound.

xpdf can block your sound system from functioning by locking onto /dev/snd/timer and more.  For example:
michael at nest$ lsof | grep snd
xpdf.bin    418    michael   84r      CHR      116,2               12764 /dev/snd/timer
xpdf.bin    418    michael   95u      CHR      116,8               13418 /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p
