[PLUG-TALK] Want clear sturdy plastic boxes

Way, way off topic.

I have about twenty 5 inch solar cells, unmounted, currently sitting
in a styrofoam tray. Fragile as hell. I would like to find 20 very
stiff transparent plastic boxes for them. Ideally, the boxes would
have inside dimensions of just over 5 inches square, and perhaps a
quarter inch thick. Something that clamshells open like a "crystal"
CD package would be nice, but those are about half an inch too short
on one side. Surfaces must be smooth; dremelling down a DVD case
would leave too many stress points unless I could polish it very
flat.

Since this is about the size of the old 5 1/4 inch floppies (original
PC floppies), perhaps somebody has some hard boxes for those in their
junk heap. One of the hinged 10-pack cases, with lots of padding,
sorta-kinda works.

I may end up getting some 5 inch square plastic mounts cut at Tap
Plastics, and store the cells adhesively attached to those. However,
I will be doing things like hitting them with radiation from a
cobalt 60 source, and I will need to try doses from both sides, as
well as doing 200C anneals. Plastic would get in the way of that.

Any other ideas?

Keith
