Medicinal marijuana is an oxy moron. There are derivatives of
Cannabis that are far more effective and have the added benefit
of not being addictive. Lack of respect for Cannabis unfortunately
has led to it being promoted even though it is also a stepping stone
drug to other more dangerous substances. A drug that wipes out
memory is not my idea of something I want in my system anyways
thank you very much.
Forget about marijuana, the ultimate point of this thread is
to discuss outlawing free porn distributed via the Net world wide.
The supreme court of the United States could make such a law and
if other countries follow suit, it would be as enforceable as any
other law.
Noone has made a case yet that there is an inherent good that comes
from free porn. Noone has proven that such a law can't be passed.
There has been some rank religious discrimination and mocking of
the Palins, but nothing that suggests to me that such a law shouldn't
be both pursued and enforced once it passes.
There are decency laws for television and radio broadcasting in the
U.S., why not the Net? There is a lot of media on the Net and the
trend is that more media is moving there. Decency laws need to be
expanded to address this change.
Banning free porn is censorship light. This is all I am asking for.
This may only protect children from getting into porn via the Net,
but that is at least an improvement over the current situation.
More important than saying no to free porn is saying no to
providing porn to anonymous people. There are no laws to clean
up the Net, something has to change. It is only a matter of time
till the Net gets tamed.
