And T-Mobile. I just recently joined the smart-phone generation. I
got a Nexus S, the new samsung google phone. I went the contract-less
option. Although the phone is GSM, the 3G only works on T-Mobile's
spectrum. T-Mobile has cheaper service for phones you own, so the
upfront costs about balance out over two years. I have a 3-person
family plan with 750 shared minutes and unlimited data on the Nexus S,
all for $80/month, only $20 more a month than I was paying AT&T for
two people. So far, so good. Google Goggles is pretty cool, and the
voice recognition is surprisingly good.
And I can tether my laptop via USB or turn the phone into a mobile
hotspot. I am not sure AT&T lets you do that with an iphone.
I am reasonably happy so far.
