It has been years since I used WordPerfect, but I know the last version
I used (6.0 for Windows 3.1) could export as ASCII text. Oh wait ...
the last version I [tried to] use was 9.0 for Linux. Corel cobbled
together some additions to Wine so it would run seamlessly. It was not
a good idea.
OpenOffice/LibreOffice has import filters for WordPerfect, but
sometimes they are not installed by the default packages. If I recall
correctly we recently had a customer at the Clinic who couldn't get
LibreOffice to open WordPerfect files, and we solved the problem by
installing the additional required package. Having said that, I'm not
positive the import filters can handle the latest versions of
WordPerfect documents.
