The government IS the people.

Kinda like my favorite bumper sticker: "Hate traffic? You ARE traffic."

While my governments really do piss me off sometimes, I'd like to note:
There's been an anti-US-government propaganda campaign running for several
decades now. Reagan, who ran on the coattails of that campaign with his
"Government IS the problem" slogan, tripled our National Debt, raised taxes
11 times, and increased Federal spending by 60%, even while cutting back
the kinds of services that help everyday Americans.

Around that time, I was living in the Rogue Valley, an anti-government
survivalist hotbed with a dying sawmill economy. The wood-products
companies blamed their layoffs on every branch of Gummit they could think
of, while exporting raw logs to offshore mills as fast as possible.

So please forgive my knee-jerk reaction to rhetoric that sounds like that,
even if it's entirely well-reasoned and true.
I've heard too many scamsters (and also traitors) with the same line.

Also, it always leaves the question, "got anything better?"

Less bad than the alternatives,
Aaron "moved back from Canada for this" Burt
