Dude, read for content.  There are two parts, one is wpa_supplicant
and one is the kernel wifi driver.  They are actively removing
support.  Each release has made it *more* difficult to use, seemingly
as they found people able to route around their damage and acted to
foreclose those options.  Not nice.
