*Everyone* is Wrong On The Internet. And then you add in the trolls,
conspiracy theorists, right-wing wackos, left-wing wackos [raises hand],
libertarian wackos, and people who use the Harvard Comma.

Yep. They paid for low grade service with minimal guarantees, and got
that. They could have paid a lot more (both in dollars and possibly in
hassle) and gotten something more reliable.

It's one of the downsides to "disruptive" services.

> Did GoDaddy customers deserve to be hurt?

I don't understand the question. Do loyal McDonald's customers deserve
heart disease? Do amateur carpenters deserve splinters? Folks get hit by
the unexpected side-effects of their choices all the time, and "deserving"
doesn't figure into it, in my book.

I guess I'm not very good at righteousness or retribution. :)

> Did / do GoDaddy customers have any right to complain?

Sure. They have a right to free speech, and a right to demand better
service, and even a right to demand gold-plated flying ponies.

And GoDaddy has a right to say, "so what?" Which is what I expect them to
do as soon as folks find some other shiny thing to get distracted by.
