Keith,

Will this work if one is standing between, for example, Burns and
Frenchglen or around Seneca?

FWIW, I have never paid for caller ID. I learn who is calling when I
answer the phone and hang up on telemarketers. It comes with the cell phone,
but as far as I'm concerned it's a nice-to-have, not a must-have. Then
again, I'm an older curmudgeon, too. :-)

And, the handfull of times I've lost power here when someone slides off an
icy hill and takes down a power transformer, the POTS still works so I can
call PGE and join the queue telling them power's out.
