Bill,

   That worked this time; it didn't when I tried it before. Ergo, I must not
have held F2 long enough.

   So, the boot sequence is internal optical drive -> internal hard drive.

   I'm now running fsck on /dev/sda1 because it had superblock errors. I'll
see if that makes a difference. Otherwise, the clinic Sunday.
