I'd keep a stash of old hard drives around the office. When fellow 
employees would bring children to the office (in-service school day, 
babysitter sick, etc), I'd ask the kids if they wanted to dismantle 
the drives. I'd just give them a set of Torx drivers and a bit of 
instruction. It was usually a good distraction for an hour or so, 
which the parents appreciated -- and the kids got to keep the magnets.
