I'm reminded of reading about an opposite approach -- at least in terms 
of breaking up the job in to small pieces -- written about in In Search 
of Excellence, where -- according to the story -- a janitor influenced 
the thinking of the plant manager who changed the assembly line into one 
where teams built things.
