My usual news feed is the "Times of India" from Mumbai - this is
international news. A few months ago, they reported a youtube
video made by a Sikh boy being abused in an Atlanta high school:
turban = Muslim = Terrorist = ATTACK.

Stupid teachers and stupid cops are part of a nerd's growing up.
I've spent a night in jail, made many trips to the disciplinary
vice principal's office, etc. And that pales in comparison to
what the other students did to me - beaten, locked in lockers,
dunked in toilets, dropped out of windows. A friend was arrested
for having a pill bottle of resistors (with short leads, recycled
from a circuit board) in his locker during a surprise inspection.

At least we innovators are no longer crucified or burned at
the stake. That is some progress. OTOH, it does cast doubt
on Darwin's work: some people have not yet evolved from apes.
