wikipedia tells me ooma is a voip service. comcast is a particularly
unreliable ISP, so you'll be putting your phone service at its mercy.
comcast has been caught in the past using shenanigans to interfere with the
operation of voip providers. I couldn't speak to whether they do that now
or not. it happens to conflict with their own phone service offering. they
avoid having the same issues by using QOS on their end to make sure their
own voip service works well while others' don't.

as for the "one outlet" thing - there is no technical limitation here.
there could be some kind of arbitrary limitation in their TOS, I don't know.
