System76 ships all computers with Ubuntu-Unity, although sometimes the
customer can specify otherwise. The point here is that all components
have to work with Ubuntu-Unity. I agree that radios are a common
problem with Linux, but System76 computers can probably be assumed to
have radios compatible with Linux. 

I certainly had no problem with the wifi on my System76 laptop; it
'just worked.' In fact, I've never bothered to figure out what
make/model it is. 

On the other hand, it doesn't cost anything to ask
