[PLUG-TALK] Food geeks among us?

   I believe some list subscribers brew their own ales and beers so I wonder
how many of us are DIY food geeks. Are there folks here who roast their own
coffee, bake from scratch, and otherwise prefer to make their own foods and
drinks?

   The Portland area is known as a foodie destination and it's apparently
also a hotbed of DIY folks who enjoy making high quality foods and drinks at
home.

   Having just bought a coffee roaster I learned there are 40 artisan, small
batch coffee roasters in the Portland area, and one source of green coffee
beans. And I've passed several stores that sell to the home brewer (having
bought barley malt for my breads from one of them.)

   Perhaps some time in the summer we could have a PLUG pot luck gathering in
a local park to share home-made goodies.
