I'm using the modem they provided, but I don't use their WiFi or router. 
I have a Buffalo router and use its WiFi. One of the things they can do 
when they "provision" the modem is to turn off those features, or at 
least the WiFi. There's a term for that, but I don't recall what it is.

I've been using their modem for about a year and a half or so, and am 
satisfied.
