We have discussed the age of surveillance capitalism here and the intrusion
into our lives via the IoT. Yesterday, Brian Krebs
<https://www.krebsonsecurity.com> posted an interesting article on the
ability of a former Ford Fusion electric vehicle to access the car although
it had returned it four years ago. There's a new owner but the former one
can lock/unlock the car, remotely start it, and track its location because
Ford (or the leasing dealer) did not reset the computer to factory defaults.

Boy, howdy! Now others can control our electric vehicles, home heating and
security systems, and our location in real time. Welcome to 1984.
