I've a 12-outlet power strip under my computer desk directly connected to a
wall outlet. It runs the PoE injector, router, switch, PoE injector, a desk
lamp, a 4-bay external USB hard drive enclosure, LJ5, and Dell color laser
printer. The drive enclosure and priters are turned on only as needed.
The UPS has outlets that provide surge protection but not backup power.
Could I plug the power strip into one of those outlets?
Long ago I read that laser printers should not be plugged into a backup
power supply because of their power surge when first turned on. If they're
on the surge protection circuit of the UPS and not on the backup circuit
would this still be an issue?
TIA,
Rich
