I suggest you recheck your reading.

Rich and I have discussed the issue in terms of risk analysis: what 
obstacles or hazards are there to EV use? Others in the thread have 
discussed the possibilties or probabilities of solving those problems.

I don't recall anyone concluding with a hard "no" on EVs and certainly 
no one coming within sight of "total nihilism."

Irresponsible exaggeration for rhetorical effect was one of the causes 
of Jan 6, and I'd ask you to reconsider using it here.
