[PLUG-TALK] Why does FedEx deliver so slowly?

Shara ordered a package from Vermont on the 9th - it was
shipped on the 13th.  It took 5 days to travel to Chicago
(850 miles) and has waited another 4 days there.  
The package speed averages to less than 4 miles per hour.

Why does FedEx deliver so slowly?  

So that mourning FedEx stockholders can walk behind the trucks.
