[PLUG] Sound - Creative Labs SB

Hi Pluggers,

I've installed a Creative Labs SB Live soundcard but when I run mplayer or
xmms I still get errors such as "No Audio". The steps I took during
installation were:

1. recompiled kernel with SB Live module (emu10k1)
2. modconf'd SB Live module (success)
3. modprobe'd SB Live module (success)

Does anyone know the next step to take in getting sound support? Any
ideas?

PS:

When I try "cat demo.mp3 > /dev/audio" I get hissing output from the
speakers.

When I reboot, the card is detected correctly:
