[PLUG] Help with finding hostid

"hostid" is one of the GNU shell utilities. On Debian it is available in
the shellutils package. On RH it is available in the sh-utils rpm, for
example at:

http://at.rpmfind.net/opsys/linux/RPM/sh-utils.html

It doesn't seem likely this utility would be missing though...
