You can pick up a good qwerty keyboard just about anywhere
for under $20. Fry's has an extensive line-up.
If you want to get a Dvorak, get one with hardware key mapping
so you don't have to reconfigure the systems you plug it into.

Subject: [PLUG] Time for a new keyboard.... (OT?)
Yeah, this one has lasted me about siix years now and only cost me $2
(on sale).
I think, however, that it is time for a new keyboard. The i key repeats
itself. The o key sometimes stopps working until I slam down on it
(just the o key) with such force that my finger hurts. And it is very
clicky. VERY clicky. They hear me on the second floor when I type.
So, I'm going to Fry's today oor tomorrow to buy myself a new keyboard!
Oh, look at that, the o key is repeating just like the i key does. Are
there any suggestions for a decent keyboard that'll last me a while?
Sure, keyboards are things most people spend $10 on and never worry
about, but I want a decent keyboard that'll last me another six years.
:::looks in wallet:::
$27 there, and somebody owes me $10 cash, so the budget for this
adventure is $37. I require the oversized (2.5 keys length?) backspace
key and under the enter key need it set up like:
/ SHIFT (1.5 keys length?) \
Not any of those with the \ key hidden somewhere. I also need my
Windows key between CTRL and ALT on the left side. I don't care about
much else... I woudl think the winkey placement is standard now,
though. I want a *real* keyboard, too, not one of those Microsoftian
'contour' ones. Flat and straight, please. :-)
Do y'all have Keyboard buying tips/suggestions/good brands? I would
definitely appreciate some input!
