YMMV, but I would just log in as root and run "aptitude".  Then I
would search for the "kde" task package, open it, and select
everything under it for "purge".  Perhaps first I would run, from the
command line:

# aptitude markauto '~slibs'

... to ensure that it will auto uninstall most of the no-longer-used
libraries also.

To save a little more space, you might install the "apt-localepurge"
package, and configure it to purge all foreign language translations
that you are not ever going to use.

If you would like a Debian CD, just let me know, and I'll burn you
one.
