Get permission first for every IP address you wish to scan, otherwise you
are just asking for trouble. Many systems run automated detection systems
which report scans to the originating ISP, and for most ISP's this can
result in immediate cancellation of your account. I get regular log
reports from my firewall, and I report anything which does not appear to
be a typical virus based scan to the originating ISP, and request that
they take the appropriate action.
