[PLUG] killing a process that doesn't want to die

I'm having a problem with a samba mount that causes a "df -h' to hang. Really 
hang. It won;t die with a 'kill 22772' and I can't find any help with a force 
command or anything like one anywhere. The process takes more and more resources, 
and is now slowing the rest of the system, but not crippling it. RH 7.2.

Anybody get a magic command?
