[PLUG] One problem apparently solved -- and a question

It appears that ftp has decided to work again on host 'salmo'; at least,
from within mozilla. I'll check ncftp later today. Strange. Anyway, thank
you all, and especially Galen. (I will build and learn the packet sniffer,
though.)

What is the safest way to upgrade gcc? I'm downloading a newer version now
as a .src.rpm and I'll rebuild it. Do I just do a 'rpm -Fvh gcc...' or is
there something else involved?

TIA,

Rich
