[PLUG] Trying to ID a spammer...

Some say therein lies the bigger issue - the cost of spam. Although
each spam mail itself is small volume, en masse it accounts for a
sizeable chunk of bandwidth (which costs money). The time spent by
admins such as Sean costs money. Notwithstanding, we all have family
and friends who are gullible enough to fall for spam-scam and lose money
- whether their trying to lose weight around their thighs or increase
the weight of their genetalia, etc.

My guess is that in the end we'll find that as strong legal penalties as
can feasibly be enacted for spammers and virus authors alike will help,
what else will it take that is constitutionally alowable?

Well from an ISP's side I know we take spammer's very seriously. I get
about
3-5 Abuse messages filtered down to me from Corporate every day. Spam,
SEC
subenas, DCMA, RIAA, MPAA. I get them all, my personal feeling about
some of
this is mixed but spam is tracked down with a vengance.
