David announced at the beginning of the last meeting that the news gateway
would be closed . . . although he had not told Karl of this yet. (Karl
arrived at the meeting at some point after this.) To David's knowledge,
only Karl uses the news gateway.

Seeing how we still get a dribble of spam onto this list, either Dave has
not talked to Karl, or for one reason or another Karl hasn't gotten around
to acting on this.
