I have not had a CMOS battery die in any of the previous laptops I had so
I didn't think of checking for a battery. Thought the CMOS might run off the
main battery, I guess.
Anyway, there's nothing in the Toshiba literature that came with the unit
that says anything about a battery. They have all sorts of stuff for
Microsofties, but nothing more technical than "don't use it in the bathtub".
Anyway, a google search turned up a place selling replacement CMOS batteries
for $20 + shipping. I'll call them Monday. Only one place, too! I may buy a
main battery replacemnt, too, because the system will be 3 years old the end
of this month. Not in warranty, I'm sure. :-)
Best portable I've owned: light, small, does everything I ask of it.
